Guy 1: Wow, I'd love to see something like this that's been professionally wired
Guy 2: It is.
Guy 1: Uh...
Guy 2: I'm an automotive professional and I wired it.
The harness in question was for some ignition modules. It was basically held together with solder, electrical tape, and silicone.

I returned a QTP electric exhaust valve to Summit for that reason:
"Why are you returning this?"
"The switch is of very dubious quality and the whole switch assembly is wrapped in electrical tape. That is indicative to me of an inferior product."
AMGtech - now with more recalls!

It may have been "professionally wired", from a functional point of view. Aesthetically it was an obvious fail for Guy 1. One thing you learn over time - quality is denoted by more than function. I struggle with the beauty/function thing all the time, sometimes getting it right, sometimes not. (But always 100% functional.)
